Retirement of Mrs Greenan

On Thursday, 16 th December we gathered to say Go Raibh Maith Agat to a colleague and friend. Thanks to the staff and children for preparing songs, poems and messages dedicated to Mrs Greenan in a special
video.
The Board of Management, the current and retired staff, the children past and present and the parents, thanked Mrs Pauline Greenan for dedicating 41.5 years to the primary teaching profession. We are
fortunate to have worked alongside Mrs Greenan in St. Louis Infant
School for 23.5 of those years.
Mrs Greenan worked with four principals, Sr. Josefina Kelly, Mrs
Kathleen Dawson and Mrs Tina McTiernan, Mrs Carmel McCarroll as
well as many retired staff. She has taught at every class level and most
recently as a special education teacher. She utilised this tacit knowledge
of teaching and learning to support the specialised educational needs of
the children. She did this with kindness, patience and diligence,
constantly embracing new approaches, professional developments and
pedagogies.
As an Assistant Principal and senior school leader, she willingly
supported the leadership and management of the school and supported
the development of the ‘green’ dimension of the school. Through her
interest in and care for the environment, Mrs Greenan was instrumental
in achieving four green flags with the guidance of An Táisce and
Monaghan County Council. With the support of the staff, the young
children and the eco committee, flags for litter and waste, energy, water
and travel were achieved. Mrs Greenan and the Greens School
Committee played a part in protecting our world for future generations.
God is at the centre of everything Pauline does. She upholds the St.
Louis ethos in her professional and personal life - UT SINT UNUM God
at the centre of all we do. She organised many seasonal prayer
services, embracing the spiritual ethos and evoking the values of our
Catholic school. God’s love radiates from Pauline through her kindness,
gentle nature and good humour. She is a very special lady!
We wish Mrs Greenan peace, love and joy during this advent season
and throughout your retirement years. We will all miss you, dearly
Pauline.
