Grandparents' Day

We hosted our 2nd Grandparents' Day on Friday 27th May from 11.30 -1.30. The grandparents were greeted on arrival by some students from St.Louis Secondary School playing traditional Irish music. Mrs. McCarroll welcomed all the visitors to our school and emphasised the very valuable and special role they have in the lives of their grandchildren. We had a nostalgic look at the Infant School in the latter part of the 20th century with a presentation of "Reeling in  the Years 1975-2000". Then, to the delight of the grandparents each class entertained us through music, song, poetry and drama. This was followed by afternoon tea which was served by the Action Team Partnership who had organised the day. There was then an opportunity for grandparents and grandchildren to have their photograph taken on the Grandparents' Bench which had been specially crafted for the occassion by the local Men's Shed.

Many thanks to Mrs.McCarroll,Pamela and the members of the ATP, to all who took part, those who helped with the work and the teachers and children for the entertainment. Special thanks to those who donated goods or sponsored the day - Dinkin's bakery, Leerpatrick, Men's Shed, Celtic Water and Eastern Balti.
